Ragley weekend 2006

I went with Mummy, Bronte and Jenson to Ragley for the weekend. We couldn’t stay for the week, we had to leave on the Monday. We arrived on Friday afternoon just after everyone else … we didn’t get lost. Sue and Robin arrived after us - they had a bad journey. On Saturday we went to Ragley Hall - I helped Georgia with Jinny and Jeff, and played in the play area with Georgia and Ben for most of the day. We had Chinese for tea because all the grown-ups were rather the worse for wear!!!

On Sunday it was our turn to provide food and entertainment. We did an ‘it’s a knock-out’ theme. The dogs had to go through an agility test, involving a jump, weave poles and sit/down stay - this was timed by Angie and other members of the group had to comment on each pairs performance - comments ranged from “wrong type of dog”, “dog did well, person was too slow” to far ruder comments, Ben and Loxley were the quickest on the first round. The humans then had to take turns on the limbo pole. Little Georgia was the lowest on the Limbo, Mummy was the worst. Keith was disqualified for substituting Jinny in his place. Kev took lots of photos, most of which were not flattering to the adults. The final challenge was the race cups, which involved stacking cups against the clock in a certain manner. Keith was the worst, Mummy was the best, but Kev came a close second which was impressive as he hadn’t practiced at all.

The Mercer family won the overall challenge - well done to them.

We then had a bar b q and chilled out for the rest of the evening - I think everyone enjoyed the chocolate dipped strawberries the best, I certainly did.

I’m already planning our theme for next year - hopefully there won’t be a water shortage!!
